InDesign storyboard template 2.00:1 aspect ratio, Courier 10pt on A4 vertical
HOW TO USE THIS TEMPLATE: This is a modular storyboard template layout for 2.00:1 films, editable with Adobe InDesign. IDML (InDesign Markup) is compatible with all Adobe InDesign versions from CS4 to CC 2023.
This template consists of 28 DIN A4 vertical (portrait) numbered pages. You can pick between several different layouts and variations. Four storyboard frames facing text, text facing four frames rows, or eight frames per page. Then the same with five frames per page. This template lets you write your film notes alongside your storyboard pictures. Pagination will appear on the top right of each page. You can number your scenes, as well as your shots or cuts. To get going, all you have to do is change the Text and Images layers in InDesign to make it your own. Fill in the title page, add your credit and project details, add a logo, and so on. Your presentation is then ready for export to print or screen. The text is set in the classic screenplay form type, Courier 10 points with 12 points leading. For images, drop your pictures in the Images layer. You can show or hide the Rule of Thirds layer guides in locked layers to help you frame your compositions.
Duplicate the spreads or pages you want to use. Remove unnecessary sheets. To change or remove pagination, go to the A-Pagination master in Pages. If you use the 5 frames per page spreads, apply the D-5 Frames master.
The document grid corresponds to the 2.00:1 aspect ratio (18:9 or Univisium).
Pictures should align to the baseline grid. The document grid modules themselves abide by the 2.00:1 ratio exactly as they should, which means you can build any variation on top of the initial template’s grid with ease! Now, that’s cool. The smallest module is 24 by 12 points, its height matches the document body text’s leading.
You can always hide the baseline grid and/or the document grid for clarity. (View > Grids & Guides > Show Baseline Grid & Hide Baseline Grid). You need the Courier font installed on your machine to use this template to the fullest. You can also print the blank template when you need to draw storyboards in clean frames on paper.
This template will save you time and help you design beautiful presentations.
